India en marked prevenient enriched with renewable energy resources due to its advantageous location in the tropical region


                     The National Conference on “Recent Trends in Renewable Energy Sources for Sustainable Development” (NCRES-2011) inaugurated by the Registrar J. Raja, was organized in India at the Anna University of Technology – Tiruchi) on 22 & 23 February 2011. The conference is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and Shri. Sathy P.Viswanathan, president of KG Design services Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore delivered the keynote address. The conference was organized with intention to create a platform for academic and industrial researchers to carry out fruitful deliberations on advanced technologies for production and use of non-conventional energy. It was emphasized by the speakers by referring to resource constraints that the growing environmental concerns call for a stringent review of the present energy systems.


                  India counted as en marked prevenient enriched with renewable energy resources due to its location, as, it is stated in a report on the conference published in ‘The Hindu’, that it was emphasized by the speakers of conference that India has to make the most of its renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, ocean and bio-energy owing to its advantageous location in the tropical region. It is also advised that Efficient tapping of renewable energy sources will substantially save foreign exchange spent on importing crude oil.
